It’s finally time to say it: The Catholic Magazine is relaunching early this year!
Most importantly, for subscribers of the magazine: It has been too long without any communication from me, and for that I am deeply sorry. I will be in contact with all of the magazine’s subscribers over the next few weeks so that we can make things right by all of you. Subscribers, please watch your inboxes for messages from the magazine about making sure that you’re satisfied with how things are resolved.
So, what is The Catholic Magazine? It’s an independent Catholic lifestyle magazine, highlighting the ways in which ordinary people live out their faith in their ordinary lives (which is what makes what they do so extraordinary). It features recurring columns from a select crew of Catholics involved in the life of the Church in various ways and building up the kingdom of God in the world. The magazine also has as the last article in each issue a short biography from people who have or are discerning their vocations–and this recurring highlight features priests, deacons, and religious, as you’d expect, but it is also rather unique in Catholic media in that it also deliberately elevates the stories of married people, single people, and those still discerning their vocations, an editorial choice intended to highlight the universal call to holiness as re-emphasized by the Second Vatican Council.
The Catholic Magazine has as its flagship publication a quarterly print magazine on heavy, high-gloss paper which lends a premium feel to it. It’s over 40 pages of uninterrupted content, with no advertisements at the moment. Each issue is also available as a digital magazine, able to be downloaded from the online store. The magazine’s website also features free-to-read articles on it. It’s worth noting that the online articles don’t overlap at all with the articles in the print or digital issues of the magazine; the content in the print and digital issues are completely different and have pictures and other beautiful items tastefully present to help create a peaceful and enjoyable reading experience.
With that said, because I have let the magazine languish, I have lost access to the old newsletter mailing list. We’ll be starting fresh, so please visit this link to sign up for the new newsletter, which will semi-regularly feature new articles on the website, reminders about the good things written in the past and still available for free to read on the website, and, of course, updates about Issue #3, work on which is officially starting!
